latakoo Awarded New Round of Air Force Grant Funding

Leading video workflow company latakoo selected by United States Air Force for prestigious military grant, AFWERX.

The U.S. Air Force awarded latakoo a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research grant under its AFWERX program, worth $75,000. AFWERX, an innovation arm of the Air Force, seeks to identify and secure world-class technologies to help the department solve its challenges.

Large organizations use latakoo to securely move significant quantities of high definition video from inhospitable locations across the world, and collaborate over it from anywhere.

The Air Force identified a problem with moving large amounts of sensor data collected by  drones, which often fly in areas with poor connectivity. Delayed responses due to inaccessible data is unsatisfactory as the data is used in deployments. latakoo will use a sensor fusion solution to enable faster, more reliable data transmission from autonomous aircraft.

latakoo’s sensor fusion product leverages its patented Generative technology and allows the military to compress its data into an accessible format, enabling fast uploads to a secure cloud from remote areas, shortening response times for critical action. Having secured the funding, latakoo will work with the Air Force to explore ways in which latakoo can help solve the identified problems.

“The same problem presents itself in many ways and in many industries all over the world.  People need to make critically important decisions based on real time data, but that data is often inaccessible because of bandwidth limitations,” latakoo CEO Paul Adrian said. “latakoo’s Generative Technology prioritizes identifying and sending the most important bits of data first – so that the decision makers receiving the media have access to as much information as possible in real time – and can make better decisions.”

AFWERX chose latakoo’s game-changing suite of secure cloud-based services for a Phase I grant. latakoo will continue collaborating with the AFWERX program for additional Phase I and Phase II funding opportunities for realizing novel solutions using generative technologies.

latakoo was previously awarded a Phase I grant through AFWERX’s Small Business Innovation Research initiative in 2021.
